Ranier M. Adarve

Renowned for his more than 20-year career in dentistry, Ranier M. Adarve, DMD, MS, MHPE has excelled as a prosthodontist at Adarve Prosthodontics, LLC since 2013. A state-of-the art dental specialty practice for young individuals, adults and seniors in Minnesota, the practice provides individualized and personalized dental care in a caring and healing environment. In addition, Dr. Adarve flourishes as an associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, a role he took on in 2007, as well as director of the Program for Advanced Standing Students. Prior, he taught at Oregon Health and Science University from 2005 to 2007, the University of the Philippines from 1998 to 2002 and Emilio Aguinaldo College from 1996 2002.

Finding great success in his profession, Dr. Adarve was the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award from the American Dental Education Association in 2012. Additionally, he was granted a Distinguished Alumni Award in Educational Innovation from the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in 2012 and the Most Outstanding Faculty Award from the University of Minnesota Dental Students in 2009 and 2018. Dr. Adarve attributes his illustrious success to passion, family and understanding the purpose of his work. Also a published author, he also credits the example of his father, who also worked in the field.

Alongside the science and technical expertise required, Dr. Adarve finds dentistry an incredibly meaningful profession, as the profession allows people to be confident in their smiles. Presently, he maintains affiliation with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry, American College of Prosthodontist, American Dental Education Association. Likewise, Dr. Adarve has been president of the Educational Research, Development and Curriculum Section of the ADEA since 2011, as well as a board examiner for the Commission on Dental Competency Assessment. In the coming years, he plans to continue working at his practice for as long as possible, as he believes the best of him comes out through dentistry.

Dr. Adarve attained a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of the Philippines in 1996 and a Master of Health Professions Education from the National Teachers Training Center for Health Professionals at the University of the Philippines in 2002. Upon his arrival to the United States, he achieved a Master of Science from the University of Minnesota Graduate School in 2005. Additionally, he received a certificated in Advanced Education is Prosthodontics and Multimedia Design and Development from the University of Minnesota, as well as a certificate in Systems Approach to Assessment in Health Science Education from Harvard Macy.
